Fiona K. Mackay is a therapist, group facilitator, supervisor, and disability advocate with more than 20 years of professional experience in trauma recovery, creative arts therapy, and holistic wellbeing.
Through her practice, Finding Balance Counselling Services, she supports clients who have experienced sexual harm and trauma through the ACC Sensitive Claims process, as well as those who identify as neurodivergent or part of the Rainbow Community.

Trained in Dance/Movement Therapy in the US and Psychosynthesis Counselling in New Zealand, Fiona integrates mind–body approaches to promote healing, self-expression, and empowerment. She draws on evidence-based tools from the creative arts therapies, Somatic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Non-Violent Communication, and Sand-tray work to help clients reconnect with their strengths and potential.

Fiona has worked across therapy, education, and community wellbeing for over two decades.
She previously taught tai chi for 15 years and continues to promote movement-based wellbeing practices within her community. She volunteers as a facilitator of the Women of Worth programme and sits on the Psychosynthesis South Pacific Board of Trustees, fostering opportunities for personal growth through workshops and experiential learning.

An active member of the Conscious Dance community, Fiona is committed to advancing professional wellbeing practice across both New Zealand and the United States.
