FREEDOM Institute offers the following partial and full Scholarships. Please note this list will be extended and reviewed regularly.

Annual National Learner Scholarships

This scholarship is open to outstanding or needy New Zealand citizens.

Applications should include: 

  • letter outlining which programme they would like to enter
  • their reasons for applying for the scholarship
  • evidence that supports grounds for scholarship application
  • goals upon graduation from this programme
  • evidence their New Zealand citizenship 
  • current Curriculum Vitae and
  • two referees who may be contacted for further information about them.

Applicants short listed for this scholarship will be interviewed.

Annual Maori Scholarships

This scholarship is open to Maori learners.

Applications should include: 

  • letter outlining which programme they would like to enter
  • their reasons for applying for the scholarship
  • evidence that supports grounds for scholarship application
  • goals upon graduation from this programme
  • evidence their Iwi affiliation 
  • current Curriculum Vitae and
  • two referees who may be contacted for further information about them.


Applicants short listed for this scholarship will be interviewed.

Annual Pasifika Scholarships

This scholarship is open to learners of Pacific Island descent.

Applications should include: 

  • letter outlining which programme they would like to enter
  • their reasons for applying for the scholarship
  • evidence that supports grounds for scholarship application
  • goals upon graduation from this programme
  • evidence their Pasifika identity 
  • current Curriculum Vitae and
  • two referees who may be contacted for further information about them.


Applicants short listed for this scholarship will be interviewed.

Annual International Learner Scholarships

This scholarship is open to International learners.

Applications should include: 

  • letter outlining which programme they would like to enter
  • their reasons for applying for the scholarship
  • evidence that supports grounds for scholarship application
  • goals upon graduation from this programme
  • evidence their national citizenship 
  • current Curriculum Vitae and
  • two referees who may be contacted for further information about them.


Applicants shortlisted for this scholarship will be interviewed.
