The senior leadership representatives from the GanSu Academy of Social Sciences took a special trip on 27th March 2018 to visit the FREEDOM Institute of Higher Education leadership team to discuss opportunities to work together. The Institutions have similar visions with both aspiring to support social, economic and cultural equity.

The GanSu Academy come from the Western region of China, and expressed high interest in FREEDOM’s innovative programmes, especially those in the area of leadership. FREEDOM’s  postgraduate qualifications fit well with GanSu’s faculty development programmes and regional development projects. The Academy showed strong interest to the Institute’s Study Abroad programmes for faculty which will be customised to address the leadership development interest of the Academy. These programmes also provide opportunities for participants to experience New Zealand life, history, culture, business and higher education.

Both Institutions presented at the meeting finding much common ground. The fruitful meeting was concluded with both parties looking forward to meeting again and the GanSu Academy issuing a warm invitation for the FREEDOM leadership team to visit GanSu later in 2018.  The meeting developing opportunities for growth and development by both organisations and their countries.

The FREEDOM Institute of Higher Education endeavours to provide a truly global education where both international and national learners can build relationships and initiatives that are positive and beneficial to both the students and the countries they come from. Such initiatives are developing trade and a cultural bridge between the people involved.
